Mission of Japanese Companies to Uruguay

On the business environment in the logistics sector and technological innovation in the country.

It was held on April 25 and 26, 2019 in Montevideo.

On April 25, a seminar was held in which forty representatives of Japanese companies were able to appreciate some presentations on investment possibilities in the country.

Mr. Naoyoshi Noguchi, Executive Vice President of the Japan Foreign Trade Promotion Agency (JETRO), addressed the seminar.

The Undersecretary of Economy and Finance, Cr. Pablo Ferreri, then presented Uruguay’s general investment attractions.

Later, by the Uruguayan-Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Cr. Jorge Costa, presented two prestigious Uruguayan law firms linked to the Institution that illustrated more specifically the “Legal Framework for Investment in Uruguay”.

On the one hand, Mr. Javier Otegui, Managing Partner of Guyer & Regules Law Firm, and later, Dr. Federico Formento and Dr. Juan Ignacio Trócoli, partners of Andersen, Tax & Legal Law Firm, specialists in these topics, provided a concrete and specialized view on the point, with special attention to the Legal Framework.

In the evening, the Ambassador of Japan Tatsuhiro Shindo gave a reception to the Mission which made some previously coordinated visits to the Port of Montevideo, Zonamerica and World Trade Center.
