Mission of Japanese businessmen to Uruguay organized by JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization)

Between October 18 and 20, 2023, a mission of Japanese businessmen to Uruguay was organized by JETRO.

The Committee for the Centennial of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and Uruguay and the Uruguayan-Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry participated as co-organizers.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining and the Embassy of Japan in Uruguay supported and collaborated.

The visitors visited the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining, the Technological Laboratory of Uruguay, Zonamerica and the port of Montevideo.

The visitors were interested in studying new business possibilities and Uruguay’s potential, the current state of energy sources, especially renewable energy sources, Uruguay’s possibilities in terms of innovation, as a technological hub, free trade zones, the port of Montevideo and its services.

The visitors had a very good impression about the current potential in terms of business possibilities, the stability of the country, its institutions and reliable economy according to the comments made and what JETRO as organizer communicated.
